Is it possible to redeem a free phone at a later time?

I'm planning on switching from prepaid to a plan for T-mobile soon, and I like the phone I have already so I'm curious if I sign a 2 year contract with them, will I be able to redeem my free phone at a later time or do I have to do it when I sign the contract?

you are still gonna have a sign a contract since its going to be a new line. But you can talk to the store manager and see if you can arrange something like that with them. I work for a cell phone company and we do that sometimes. But i think they will tell you to do that within a month or two max.
