Old ATT GSM SIM card versus New Cingular SIM error message?

Just bought a new unlocked Sony 600i. When I inserted my ATT GSM SIM card I got the following message: Insert correct Smart Chip. When I insert my wifes Cingular SIM the phone works correctly. Will the phone not function properly on my old SIM card? I recently (1 year ago) purchased a Nokia 5300 that was unlocked and it worked great. Thanks

At&t deactivates simcards if they are not used for 3-months and i think this is what has happened to you. Contact At&t if this is not the case and they will trouble shoot the problem for you!
