I NEED HELP BUYING A TOUCHSCREEN PHONE!!!!!?

hey everyone thx for your help!

i have a question ok if i have a plan with a&tt and i dont have internet service at all but i have unlimited messaging and calls, if i happen to buy a prada phone or an LG KU990 or anything thats touch screen do i have to pay for internet service???
or if i just buy it would it only work just like that with my SIM CARD???
