This provides a soldi and easy to use backup battery which almost doubles my battery life. When used as a dock for charging, it can't get much easier. Just drop it and it charges without anything special. I had a $15 mail-in rebate which madeit even better. However, if you happen to have a nice case that comes with a third party insert, the connection can be rather iffy. It charged my iPhone extremely slowly; in fact, I suspect that it charged the phone only slightly faster than the iPhone used power. Additionally, the battery fits very snugly to the iPhone. The nightstand cradle is awesome and the phone fits nice and solid but the first time I tried to use the battery pack I learned that the connector is loose and keeps losing contact. So the battery pack charges the phone if you leave it perfectly still on a desk or hold it just right, but forget about putting it in a pocket or purse and expect it to charge your phone like it should. Mine only made an incessant bloinking noise as it constantly lost and reconnected with the battery. I really had high hopes for this, but I guess I'll have to ship it back and try something else. Maybe it's just me, but I've had bad luck a few times now with kensington accessories. The $100 FM modulator sounded terrible and the chargers only like half of my Ipods.
